Finicky brake light - '01 Accord
Every now & again the dash brake light in my wife's Accord refuses to go out when you start up and release the parking brake. When it acts up like this it'll often go out later when you press the brake pedal, but may come on again. Most of the time, it functions normally. And, the times when the light stays on, it feels as though the E-brake is fully disengaged, so I think it's an indicator problem rather than a brake problem.
This happened about 6 months ago while the car was still under warranty, so I took it in to a dealership. If memory serves, the tech said there was a float in the brake cylinder which wasn't venting properly. They replaced that float and the problem went away - until now.
Any thoughts here? Does anyone know about the float the tech mentioned? Is there anything special to replacing it (again)? Should I get one of those code reader dealies and plug it in?
Any help appreciated. Thanks!

the float is located on the brake master cylinder cap... u can replace the whole cap of just get the float and swap it ,,,
and no you do not have to chk for codes on this issue ......Also make sure you got planty of fluid in the master reservoir , if low the brakes are possibly worn

deserthonda,
Thanks for the info - replacing a cylinder cap doesn't sound bad at all. I believe there's plenty of fluid but will check nonetheless since I'll be there anyway.
BTW, nice Green Bay cap icon. As a Cal alum, I hope you enjoy Aaron Rodgers once The Man finally retires!
Thanks again,
