Default Need good BAY AREA shops...

hi
anyone know any good shops in the bay area (with good prices too) that will do a good job of installing cams, valvesprings/retainers and an intake manifold? When it comes to internals i want a shop to do it right, dont wanna mess up my car...anyone know the approximate cost of such work? How much more would they charge to install pistons while the head is off? thanx

Unfortunately, as you may have noticed prices are pretty high around here for quality work-typically, you get what you pay for, unless you have hook up somewhere. As far as a quality shop, Motorsport Techniques in Hayward(510 783 8383) is good. Wee used to be the lead mechanic there, but during the school year, he goes to Davis, so I think he may only do weekends. Not sure about the other guys, he is the only one I had wrench on my car, as did alot of other folks that had REAL work done(meaning things other than typical bolt on's) Group A, in Hayward has a dyno, haven't been there in like 2 years, though. The best tuner in the area is by far DynoSpotRacing in Mt.View. They run pretty high though, like $185/hr for them to tune. Good Luck.

Give Lawrence a call at DynoSpot (650)988-6848...one of the very few that I trust to work on my car. Link is in Signature.

Yes. I got my stuff done at Motorsport Techniques in Hayward. Very satisfied with their work and very clean workers!
