Default gauges in a crx dont work..

ive been searching like crazy, cant figure this one out. i swapped a 1991 d16a6 engine/tranny into an 1989 crx. the crx was dual point, but i swapped the complete engine harness into the car and also did an auto to manual swap. my gauges do not work however. i CEL, ajar, lil lights, etc work but tach, coolant, and fuel gauges do not work. ive tried everything i could think of, as well as dash harnesses, and clusters. no luck on either. please help!

Keep in mind the engine runs FINE, just half the gauge cluster doesnt work.

could loose grounds in the engine compartment cause the gauges to malfunction?

ive checked as best i could and found nothing lose and no corrosion.. should i look harder or just burn the car?

The clusters are pinned differently... it won't plug & play, trace the wires with a multimeter.

It sucks (I had to do it swapping in my GSR cluster) but it is foolproof. All you need is the original cluster and the new cluster and you can figure it all out from there

i have swapped the Si dash harness and cluster into the crx, the cluster still does not work. fuses have been checked and are good.

the dx cluster and dash harness should work correct? or is the dual point fuse box required for the dx cluster..

ive tried every combo i could think of, i thought it would be "plug and play" if the entire assembly was used.

We have the Si engine, engine harness, dash harness and gauge cluster in the CRX. It shouldnt have anything to do with pinouts since virtually everything is swapped over.

Tach, gas gauge, and coolant temp dont work but CEL, doors, turn signals etc do work (and of course speedo bc its mechanical). I am baffled why only half of it works and the other half doesnt.

All fuses in the cabin and engine bay have been checked and rechecked. These parts came out of a known good car.

Whoops, my bad, reading comprehension owns me!

Interesting, all the equipment relating to senders does not work. I assume you know the tach + gas gauge + coolant temp are all 3-wire units, the others are all 2-wire. It's as simple at this point as using a multimeter from the back of the cluster to the sending units' locations in the car. They either don't have a) power, b), ground, c) signal. Easy as pie to test for power and ground - I can almost guarantee they have these since when I wired mine I seem to recall a common power/ground for pretty much everything - and then it's just signal.

How do all the traces on the back of the cluster look? Any burnt or lost continuity?

Have you traced the wires from the back of the cluster to
1) The pin at the wiring harness,
2) From the wiring harness through to the engine bay?
