Default Exhaust Pics

Okay so I did a search, read the reviews, read what others thought about exhausts/mufflers etc. I just put an intake on my Prelude, and I wanna put on an exhaust.

But I don't know how the Apex WS2 exhaust LOOKS on the 5th gen Prelude (or any Prelude, for that matter). I'm really picky about exhausts. I don't wanna spend 500 bucks on something only to be dissapointed in it after I put it on.

If you have any pics of the exhaust on the car, please post them or link them. It'd be appreciated.

I actually prefer the dual tip look of the stock muffler, but there appears to be no catback systems that utilize that type of muffler. I have a Magnaflow dual tip on my 4th generation, which I think looks good, but is entirely too loud. Optimally, I'd like a catback that has a dual tip muffler, is reasonably quiet, and gives some gains.

Thanks

This is the 80mm universal version, but it should look almost identical to the 60mm version.

Yeah that looks pretty good. I still prefer the dual-tip design though.

Are you happy with the exhaust?

Yeah, I like it a lot so far. My car is turbo, so I gained a lot of horsepower over the stock muffler and with the 3" piping. The 80mm version I have is a straight through design, so it was kind of loud when I first put it on (extremely deep low pitch sound that got annoying at steady speeds), but I made a silencer for it and it's almost as quiet as stock now. From what I understand, the 60mm cat-back version is chambered and a lot quieter than the straight through one.

Here's a crappy sound clip from my digital camera cruising in the 2,500-4,000 range:

And a video running through the gears on about 3 psi. Don't mind the open wastegate sound.

Oh so you just have the muffler, not the cat-back? I imagine the cat-back is quieter mostly because it has a resonator.

Yeah, it's just the muffler. I used the kteller 3" pipe kit, but added a 26" resonator and a high flow cat.

Probably not too much right now since I'm only hitting about 3-4 psi.. I have to adjust some things to get it up to 5 or 6, but I'd say it's around 200-210 whp right now??

I know Thermal R&D makes an exhaust for the 5th gen lude with a dual tip muffler that is also fairly quiet as far as aftermarket exhausts come.

Here is a thread w/ the thermal:

here is a guy with a 4th gen who took the single tip thermal muffler off his cat back and put on a dual tip:

I really like the way the Thermal looks. Def thanks for pointing that one out.

The cheapest I've found it so far is 519 shipped. Any body know a site that has it for less than that?
