Default Will an axleback from a sedan fit on a hatch?

I was at a junkyard yesterday and came by a 90 or 91 sedan that had some sort of axle back muffler on it (not sure what) but i was curious if anyone knew if it would fit on a hatch or not. It seems to mount essentially the same way, but I would only be interested if I could get it for like 20 bucks or less and it would just bolt on. My orignal muffler has deteriorated around the edge so it is starting to sound like crap...just looking for cheap alternatives. Thanks in advance.

the pipe exiting the sedan muffler will be to long in the section going to the bumper. it will be about 8-12 inches to long. if you cut a section out and reweld the exhaust tip back on then yes it will fit.
