has anyone put aftermarket camshafts on there h22?? if so...
Searched and asked this before without a response.
I put skunk2 cams with adj. cam gears on my 97 prelude. The shop left the timing STOCK. I am assuming that this is incorrect and the timing should be advanced or retarded.
My friend but similar cams by crower in his mitsubishi and had problems until he called the company and they advised them where to set the cam gears. I took it upon myself to call every manufactuer of prelude cams and NO ONE could recomend anything to me.
Im sure tons or you guys (and gals) have AM cam, so what did you do?

No they did not. They are OBX stage 2 cams but have the exact
same specs as the skunk2 stage 2's.

There's no one best setting, it really depends on your intake and exhaust setup. You really need to have cam gears adjusted on a dyno, adjusting one gear at a time, one degree at a time, between each run. Typically, on an NA car you want to increase overlap a bit, it helps scavenge the cylinders. I'd start with the exhaust cam first.

With Skunk2 cams, usually no adjustable cam gears are needed just fuel which is a big must, get a vafc and tune or you could be running dangerously lean, then you will realize the potential of those cams.

Watch out those cams are gonna ruin your rocker arms in a matter of days. Scince you have to run stiffer springs they are gonna wear out fast. Im talking from expirience i had the stage 1 cams for a while and they at the crap out of my rockers. Just put my new rockers and cams put in but it was a bitch finding rockers.
