i just was on my way home from dropping something off and i noticed when i left and on my way back whenever i get kinda on it the engine will start to make a whistle noise and the hard i get on it or the higher in the rpms i take it the louder the whistle is, it sounds like a turbo spooling but its not haha i just have a stock d16z6 with the stock intake and a aem filter cause my stock filter was dirty and i had to pay insurance and a payment so i stuck on this aem one any thing to do with the whistle noise let me know what you guys think it may be. kinda annoying.

 

pop open the hood. garb someone and while your under the hood tell them to give gas slowly, while your doing that listen for your sound. then when you find it post it, im curios to your problem.

 

alright i'll do that here in a while im going over to a buddies work after a while here and were washing our car he works at a dealership we'll do it there. my neighbors are **** they call the cops.

 

hey i got the same prob with my 92 accord lx. i think its the water pump or alternator. i know its definetly something with a pulley on it lol. my friends 92 dx had the same noise. its more of a whinning noise like a turbo going zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!. he said it was his water pump. bad bearing in it or something. good luck w/ur problem. . water pumps are cheap if thats the culprit!

 

i got the same thing coming from the timing belt part (side) from what it sounds like, what could be? and plus when i turn my steering wheel (while standing and moving) i get whining noise too? can someone help please

 

Could be what I've got, one of the bearings on the alternator is binding slightly and making a high pitched whine which increases in pitch as the car is revved. Maybe worth checking out

 

i got that too whe it's revved and when i turn the steering wheel it makes whiny noise ,it's gettin on my nerves
