Intermittent Hesitation on Accord SE 1991
The Problem seem to have started after a small leak from the radiator, the steam went on the side of the motor, near the distributor cap....from that moment I noticed an intermittent hesitation as I drove away...
I had the radiator changed, the distributor cap replaced, the rotor replaced, the spark plugs checked, the spark plugs wires checked...still same intermittent hesitation.
Brought the car to Honda Dealer, naturally the hesitation would just happen to me, since the mechanic had the car three days in his personal care, without any founded hesitation....
At Honda, they checked the control coil, the Map Sensor, The EGR Valve, the fuel injectors, the gas line, the gas pump...replaced the gas filter , gave a tune-up...
Same problem, so back into the garage......Mechanic said possibly the O2 Sensor, so had that replaced, for a couple of $$...I was assured by the Service Director, at 99% that would remedy the problem with hesitation....Well that 1% came flashing at my face, not flashing on the dashboard like it should....Drove the car 20 miles, stopped the car, went to a restaurant, back in the car, started fine....as soon as I got into the main road, there it goes, "hesitation" then zoomed along as if nothing was....Can anyone possibly tell me, if they had such a problem, it's driving me nuts...Could it be the exaust sensor????
The car was thouroughly checked for compression, oil pump, leaks, transmission (automatic), in other words this car is restored, except for this problem of intermittent hesitation...The car does not stall, it's just like a cow suddenly taking a breather (02 sensor) then kicking off as the bull approaches....
