Default Body work? DIY..new to it...but eager to make it look good....

Alright, so I just started work on my EG...the body was horrible, faded paint, scratches, dings like crazy, and one tiny spot of rust. I am going to follow these basic steps, but I would like some tips from you guys:

First bring area down to bare metal.
Apply filler.
Sand to shape.
Apply glazing putty if needed to smooth out.
Spray metal etch on bare metal spots.
Prime with high build primer.
Spray primer with check coat and block out(wetsand) untill perfectly level.
Scuff were you plan to paint and blend.
Lay color.
Lay clear.
Wetsand.
Buff.
Done.

Anything you guys feel is worth mentioning when doing my own body work? I know the more prep I do the better it will come out.

Also, I was thinking of buying a good gun to spray it myself, because I'm trying to keep costs down. For those of you guys who don't have $1000000 spray booths, what do you do when painting the car?

Any suggestions on spray guns? I have a compressor......and used to hang around a very good body shop for like 2 years...never worked there, but grasped most of the filler work he used to do.....

Laying down the prime will bring out any imperfections you may have missed and they are alot easier to see then looking at a mess of filler and bare metal, dont be afrad to sand it back down re-fil, and primer til perfection
