i have a 1995 honda accord ex with 115k, it have aem cai, magnaflow high flow cat, dc header, megan racing cat back exhaust, my question is i was looking on TAS and i was looking at pulleys and cam gears, which one of these would give me more power????? if i got the gears i ouldnt be able to get it tuned for awhile??? thanks

Youd need soe reground cams and some A/F ratio tuning to make the most out of cams/cam gears. Youd notice it, maybe a good 7-10 hp at the wheels, you wouldnt be breaking any landspeed records but it'd be quicker....

 

cam gear wont give you more power if you don't get it tuned. in fact you could acutally lose power. pulleys will free up a little hp but not nearly 15, more like 3-5.

 

Pulleys dont make as much power, the thing they do is free up revving. The engine goes faster quicker due to less rotational mass, and it'll make 3 hp if you're lucky

Reground camp $250
some sort of FMU and related hardware $500
shitty tuning just so you dont detonate $250


you can boost for that much dude

 

You could buy Performace cam and this make a big difference in revolution to have more RPM. And you could reprogamme your ECU or buy another ECU, like a prelude ECU.

I think Delta Cam had the best deal on a regrind when I last checked (a year or so ago) for my 1995 accord lx. What I learned was this: unless I was about to drop some major money on a turbo kit, or a hellacious N/A buildup, I was not going to be happy with the power gains I would get. Not to deter you from doing anything to your car.... but anyways, Delta Cam I heard was good. From the email I sent them, their turn around time was something like 4 days.
