Default New Suzuki n00b questions

hey all,

Background:
MSF in Late July
Got licence
No riding experience prior to MSF

Currently:

I recently picked up a GS500e from a guy in DC and rode it home. It feels like second nature, but i'm still trying to get used to the clutch, tends to bog. Looks like the bike has been laid down a couple times, but everything feels right. Minor lay-downs i would say. The clutch lever is slightly bent, along with the clutch-side mirror.

One question though, how the hell do i lift up the seat on this thing? Is there a compartment? Anything else in particular i should know about the bike, i just know it was a good learner. And i like it for now, but i can definitely see myself getting a newer, slightly bigger bike in the spring after some experience.

here's a pic:

specs:
picked it up for $1500 + paypal fees
< 5k miles

i also think i need to change the oil, the oil light comes on after riding and after start up

i would take it to a dealer or motorcycle shop and have them change the oil.
