Default Seat harnesses: How do you determine what size is right for you?

There are all of these measurements out there, but how do I measure it all to see what's right for me? Where do I measure from? My seat may be higher or shorter than what a company has in mind.

I'm also a "big boy" and want to make sure that I'm not going to cut off my blood supply during a race.

Any help would be great (I'm looking at a Crow or Willans 5 pt harness).

Thanks,
Steve

Maybe I need to be more specific.

55" bolt - in seat belt with pull down adjuster, bolt - in individual harness and bolt - in anti - submarine.

55" - Where does this measurement come from? I've also seen 50" harnesses as well.

Thanks,
Steve

Are you asking about length? If so, wait until you have the seat installed and then measure from where you are mounting to where the latch is going to be. Just be sure to leave yourself some room to loosen up the belts to make it easier to get them on and off. This is also going to determine the type of belt as well. I have mounting tabs on my cage but you might not on yours.

If this doesn't help, you need to make your question a little clearer.

I have tabs welded in as well and my seat is already mounted. I guess I was just questioning the sizes (55" and 50") on the harnesses I was looking at.

Just measure from that tab to the latch, that should tell you what would work. Both are probably going to be long but they are adjustable. I would go with the one with bolts since it will be an easy bolt in.
