Default loose crx steering wheel

When I purchased my rex si a few years ago I recall the steering was very tight and that i had to wrench quite a bit to turn the wheel at slow parking speeds. Even when it was driving the steering was very tight but since I replaced the tires (195/60r14 vs the stock 185/65/r14) the steering feels as if its has play in it. The car steers fine and when I take it for wheel alignments at honda they don't ever say anything is wrong.

Why would changing my tires to a slightly wider track cause it to feel "loose"

Someone once said in a forum that replacing the end bushings or something like that would improve tightness of steering.

Thanks

it could be that you have a lot of air in you tires, when i over inflate my tires my steering feels softer and easier to turn.

i agree with tyson, try tightening the nut on the rack and pinion. that will eliminate any freeplay and replacing the rack end bushing helps for a tighter feel.

are the rack end bushings hard to change?
