Default headliner blues

I am having trouble finding a headliner. I have searched and been to web sites as Majestics and SL but I can't find one for a 88 dx hatch w/ sunroof. I have even posted a wtb thread with no bites https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1351242.

can you guys point me in a helpful direction thanks

thats because dx's didnt come with sunroofs as oem, only Si's.
And in 88 there was no Civic Si, so none of the HB's came with Sunroofs in 88.

Someone has put one in your dx at one piont in time. Get a Si headliner outa the junkyard and see if it will work with your sunroof, but it may not if the installers didnt line it up like the original Si sunroofs.

Due to doing a roof swap (sunroof to non-sunroof) I know what you are dealing with. I spent a large amount of time at the dealer finding a (new) headliner that would work.

There are several different versions that could work for you. Some are no longer available. The factory changes part numbers based on just about any difference and you could assume that they may not work.

Get friendly with your dealer and have him do a bunch of searches.

Here is some "hints" that I found;

An 88 headliner should be the same as a 89. The 90 and 91 versions had a seat-belt indicator that is where the mirror mounts. If you use a 90 version, you will have to get the indicator housing to hide the larger opening in the headliner. The mirror it's self is the same.

Your color options are limited! You may find that a blue one is available, but not black. You could color match the one you get.

On the hatchbacks, the "dome light" changes from year to year. So, you may have to get a dome light assembly that matches the headliner.

Good luck!!!!!

Wes
