hey guys i was wondering if some of you can help me out. will the stock axles from the 1st gen jdm b16's fit in my 88 crx dx? i know the 90-93 us integra axles fit if you remove the spacer but i thought i could save the money if i could use the ones that come with the motor. also im looking for the best prices on complete b16a changeovers and hasport or hcp mount kits (linkage optional).
The JDM axles will work the same as the 90-93 teg axles, if you get them. The only reason everyone buys teg axles is that JDM motors almost never come with axles.
The fitment of JDM axles depends on which car they are from. True SIR axles are a perfect fit. No removal of the sealing rings on the knuckles is required. And you won't have the length problems that 1990-1993 Integra axles often give. On the other hand, you will probably need to get a 1990-1993 Integra intermediate shaft. JDM Integra axles are actually the same as USDM 1990-1993 Integra axles. So they have all the fitment problems associated with these axles, including the need to remove the sealing rings on the hubs.
If by chance you get even the inner joints with cut shafts, consider yourself lucky. You can then go get a pair of 1986-1989 Integra axles and replace the inner joints on those axles with the JDM inner joints. You will then have true SIR axles! It does not matter which car these inner joints come from, as they are the same on the SIR and the Integra.
