chipped si or integ ecu
ok i can buy a chipped si ecu(mugen chip) or a 89-integra ecu for a zc witch is the way to go the chipped is about $50 more.. but i don`t know anything about chipped ecu`s. i can only go buy what you guys tell me
Get the integra ECU. You should be able to find one for about $60-$70. I've heard the Zdyne conversion for the ZC runs horribly. I think someone on here even said that they have one sitting in their garage because the teg ECU runs so much better.
I've been running a teg ECU for years with no problems. They don't burn distributers like you often hear (which wouldn't make sense if you think about it), and they don't really run rich IMO. I've never noticed mine running rich at all (until now with the 12:1 FMU and Walbro 255).
The improvement of the teg ECU over the Si is noticable. Personnally I don't think that you should even bother with a ZC swap without getting either the teg or ZC ecu. With my Si ECU in there it feels like the D16A6 is still in there.
Go teg!

Hmmmm...that is interesting, my zdyne zc ecu ran great. I never had a problem with it. I have tried the teg ecu but I like the zdyne better.
JMO though

the mugen chip is much better in terms of mid range and top end power,
gas mileage is also excellent as to compared to PG7 ecu, which runs very rich and tends to foul up the 02 in matter of few months, belive me, from few cars around here and those who run the PG7 ecu like the performance of their PG7 at first but later realize that the 02 costs and gains go away quickly...
on a dyno mugen makes a little more power from 5000rpm on, then PG7 ecu...

I disagree about the O2 sensor thing. I've been running a PG7 for about 3 1/2 years and I'm still using the O2 sensor that came with the ZC which appears to be an original. I'm guessing it has over 100,000 miles on it. I know a few other people running the same setup, and I've never personally seen anyone with O2 sensor problems (that isn't to say it doesn't happen, but I doubt there is a link to the teg ECU).
To be honest, I don't think that my ZC ran near as rich with the PG7 as my D16A6 did with the PM6. If anything, I think the ZC ran lean in the really high rpm range. It MIGHT idle a bit more rich, but that's about it.
eg6ajk... do you have those dyno plots? I'm curious as to where the two programs differ. Does the mugen program disable the sensors like some of their other programs do? http://www.hondata.com/mugen.html
