Get a timing belt for a civic vx or just get an adjustable cam gear

um... okay.

Changing the timing belt on a mini-me will be exactly like any other d-series. Just buy the timing belt that matches the head and you should be fine.

belt should match the head. if you have a d15 block and a d16 head then get an adjustable cam gear.

i've never heard you needed a new cam gear either. I also have an a6/y8 mini-me so it's a straight 1.6L setup and i have an adjustable cam gear.

Why not go back 1 tooth?

I bet if I went back a tooth it would be cool, but the gear arrives today.

get... a.... service.... manual...

seriously, they're what? $10 for a haynes? I don't understand how you can even think of working on your car without one. Honda-tuning had a writeup a while ago of a timing belt change but i'm not going to dig through my basket to find it right now.

God damn man, i changed a timing belt on a Sohc and a dohc and both are not as bad as it seems unless you'r a total noob at workin on cars... Really, just buy a haynes book for the car you have and follow the directions, the timing belt change on a mini me is the same god damn thing as a regular timing belt change. But make sure you leave that spring on the tensioner off, thats what i had to do and my other buddy with a mini me swap had to do basically, but good luck tryin to keep it.

Check this out.. it should help.

Just set the timing at STOCK for the head and the block. And use the timing belt that matches the head.

This is what I did on my D15B7/Z6 head and it worked just fine.

i never knew how easy it was to install a z6 timing belt..i did it and did it in an hour...i used a big gorilla lug wrench with lots of extensions, blocked the front wheels and threw it in 5th...poped right off and was all smooth from there....thanx guys for the great responses.....now to do the gasket
