so i grinded third at about 6500 on my type s. i didnt force it in.. as soon as i heard the sound i was like "oh ****" and went back in neutral. after that i was able to drive home with no problems... will be experiencing any problems later down the line in my tranny because of this? thanks.

 

i get a grind sometimes, its actually not a lot at all

im juss driving, shifting at 3k and then 3rd juss pops back out and a little grind is heard. i onno though..

 

my friends rsx popped out gear a lot in 3rd as well. he took it in thou and they fixed it

 

theres a thread about this, acura has a recall on the tranny synchros mainly the 2nd and third gear ones

 

im sorry, i meant that at 6500rpm i grinded. this is on an 05 type s

 

You should be alright, might want to try some Redline tranny fluid and magnetic drain bolts.

 

I've been having problems with my third gear, but only when the trannies cold. Such as when I go to work in the morning or when I haven't driven it in awhile. However, that pop-out **** can be pretty annoying. I try and force it in a little more to make sure I get it in third. It seems to be hard to get in third when I'm first driving it. Gets annoying.
