Default How light can my 88 HF go?

I was wondering if there are any other ways to reduce the weight of my 88 HF without having too much of a dramatic change like lexan windows for instants.

You can start off by takeing out all of the interior. If you want just strip it from the door panels back.

Passanger seat
sound deading
spare tire,jack
entire A/C system and sell it to me
a Lighter racing seat for the driver side

theres a few more things you can do like random stuff in the engine bay.

You can also remove the passenger side seat belt, your wiper blades and motors. If you arent planning on having any windsheild wipers then you can remove that wiper fliud resivours(sp?).

That will take some wieght off. Then you can remove your hood latch and just use hood pins. Buy some lighter rims...vx or hx rims for cheap and light ($200).

Take off your bumper reinforcements and then you'll have lost most of the wieght that you can with out having to spend that much money.

i would say that the rear hatch & glass is the most significant weight that you can replace with a lighter material on the car. also you can replace the fuel tank with a smaller & lighter fuel cell.

I look at it like this, if your gonna gut it then gut it completly, everything!! if your not going to go all out and really knock alot of weight off it then i dont think its worth it. Also you can get an 11lbs battery, scrape the sound deadening, you could remove the hatch lock and use those rubber things race car style, you can gut your doors, so they only have a pin to hold the window up and no crank and only the outside skin, you can cut a piece of lexan for your front windows and put it in the sliding part so you can still roll it down. the hf is pretty light man, you dont want it to blow away.
