Default CRX Tanabe and 5Zigen Exhaust

Does anyone have either the Tanabe Medallion or the 5Zigen Fireball on their CRX's. I need to know where you got them? What is the quality like? I'm sure it is good though considering these are both prestigious Japanese companies.

i have a custom-piped 5zigen fireball on my 90 hatch. i got it from a friend, you're probably looking for an axel back system...i'd just recommend a custom job with the mufflers...

When I was at Nopi last year, This guy had a 5Zigen rear section on his CRX and it sounded tight.I've found them as cheap as $244 for the rear section(canister and tip)Also for another $120 , A local Muff shop will put custom built mandrel bent piping and connect it and hang it.Giving me a total of $365 for a tight sounding exhaust.

Tanabe is pretty loud sounding...never heard the 5Zigen. Tanabe now has the full stainless steel exhaust for crxs so that is a plus

the 5zigen sounds NICE...i have 2.5 inch piping (not mandrel bent which is why its so big for n/a), a catco cat, and a dynomax resonator...the tone of the system is not too loud but rocks when i step on the gas...i especially love driving right alongside the center divide, the exhaust sound just bounces off perfectly

I have a 5Zigen Border III cat-back on my 'rex and I love it. Nice deep and quiet tone until you step on it. I had to cut a small section out of the mid-pipe because it is designed for the JDM ZC CRX. The cats in japan are a lot shorter than the N/. American ones...therefore the mid-pipe is slightly too long.

solorex.....what color is your exhuast? I have a full JDM 5Zigen Border on my rex also. When vtec comes on its gets real raspy. The whole catback it this light green color... It is a little loud on the upper end but i like it. Very intimidating....

I have a Tanabe Racing Medallion on my '89 Si and I love it!!! I got it from a group buy last August. It purrs quietly at idle and gives you all the noise you need at WOT. Its fully stainless and 60mm wide so its got a great lasting value and wide open design plus it looks great!(I have always like canister style exhausts though)... all in all I wouldnt trade it for the world... maybe a turbo...but not the world!

My CRX had the Tanabe Racing Medallion. I got it from ADR Performance for $440 shipped to my door (MN). The sad thing is 16 days later my CRX was salvage.... so I picked up a 91 hatch Si.

FYI: all i had to do was get pice of pipe of the hardware store, & weld about 8 inches (placed in between the 1st & 2nd pice).

It lookes real nice on both cars but when you have a stock motor ( low hp and trust) it doesn't make alot of noise until about 3K rpms. Still love the sound every time I rev her.
