anyone reupholsterd door panels?
I am having just a slight problem with reupholstering my door pannels because there are 3 pieces to the actualy door panel and there are 3 diffrent materials on it and to reupholster them i had to take all three pieces apart and they are connected by plastic studs about 1.5in long and was melted together with the other pieces of the door panels, so for this i needed to break the studs right below where they were melted to get them apart now how would i need to reconnect them
Here is how I dis-assembled and re-assembled my door panels

At the bottom of the page, it shows how to epoxy them back together. It's not easy to find an epoxy that will bind to the plastic!!!!

I am just looking at getting newer-looking panels from a junkyard. If they need work, I will combine the parts available.
Wes V, that's a killer site you got going on! I will be using some of that info when I get ready for a swap, and some of the other stuff you have done and documented will come in handy in the future as well!

Thanks for the comment on the site!
I don't remeber if I made a warning about the cost of the epoxy I used. It's pricey, but was the only product that I found that would work.
As for the tool that dispenses it, you should also go by a Home Depot and check out the tool used for Simpson SET epoxy. It's used for adding anchor bolts to concrete foundations (I'm an Architectural Engineer).
