Default Probe rods & CTR pistons?

Will the Probe CRVtec rods fit the CTR pistons. Rods were given to me when rebuilding my LS and i'm looking to buy CTR pistons for a LS vtec build up but have heard i may have to shave the the rods to fit the pistons. If anyone know for sure a word of advice would be awesome. Also, any thoughts on using this combo for the bottom end of this build.

Much appreciated in advance, this is my first build, i bought the motor cheap and stock and spun a rod bearing after 6 months of hard driving.

You would have to machine the small end of the rod, have the piston pin shortened and the piston cut for spirolocs. If you dead set on using ctr pistons, just get a set of stock ls rods, have a mm cut off each side of the small end of the rod and get arp rod bolts.

Sounds like a lot of work either way, but thats cool. I wasnt set on the CTR pistons, i already have been given a set of rods and there isnt a lot "in-stock" merchendise floating around in north dakota. The shop i buy my stuff from has a set of CTR's for $175, brand new in the box, just lookin for ideas, and deals that are hard to pass up.

Any other thoughts for a clean LS-Vtec build that not overboard????
