Just a quick discussion with a friend about other manfactures engines and forged parts. Forged pistons/crank etc will yield a stronger engine, yes? So do any honda engines have forged parts? (this is stock btw, from the factory?)
Almost all Honda's come with forged steel cranks and rods.
Most other manufactures use cast cranks, okay for passenger car but sucky for perf.

I think Honda has always used forged internals.
Honda started out making scooters in post war torn Japan, then become the worlds premier motorcyle manufacturer. They then started making cars using alot of their motorcycle technology and using the same suppliers that supplied their motorcycle parts since Honda was black balled in the auto industry when Honda began making cars (Japan at the time already had 5 large auto makers: Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru and Izuzu. The minister of industry did not feel Japan needed another auto maker but Mr. Honda himself camped in front of the minister's house for 2 weeks until the minister gave in.)
Much of the same Honda "spirit" lives in Honda cars and owners
