f22b2, is praically the same engine as the f22b1 but no vtec, u can make some nice power by turbocharging, the engine could probally do 300whp without any work on the engine

Whether you build an all-engine n/a F22b2 or boost it, either one will work well with a 5 spd trans conversion. So, if you enjoy stiring the stick yourself, go for it.
In my opinion you can look at it this way.
Turbo's of reasonable output should work better with Auto trans applications because of a lack of turbo lag during shifting (you don't have to lift off the gas to shift)
All-Engines' work better with manual (5 or 6 speed) transmissions because you can compensate for defficiencies at low rpm with the use of the clutch.

both will work, choose which is right for you.

but autos just gay if you want to make it a sport car...
thats imo
seeing a fixed up import.. and its auto.. just makes it lame... it would be differnt if it were a luxury sport.. but making it auto.. all you can do is go strait.. eh.. and it just tells me you need a computer to shift for you ... imo

Yea, i've got f22 and while the actual block is stout, the sohc is a complicator. but you have to think about this. if and when you do up your power, are you going to want more? in that case the f22 will require more mods and whatnot. go with the h22 swap, work on your suspension and then come back.

Yes. A compression test (both dry and wet) will give you a general idea of the health of the piston rings and valves as they seal to the head. Without pulling apart the bottom end, you'll have to rely on auditory hints (if it ain't Pingin', Knockin', squeekin' or fa..tin') to get an idea.

As to the question of ones' masculinity based on what transmission your rides' got; I drove standards for years, until I got to the point where it actually became a pain in the A..s and I started using Automatics. I guess I missed something because I didn't start lisping and wearing loafers
Imagine my excitement when I discovered I could manually shift an automatic! That I could install shift kits and high lock torque converters and do hole shots, burnouts and still drive it civilized! ... and I didn't have to worry about missed shifts, slipping clutches and a muscle-bound left leg.

This is your ride, do with it what you want

im with you P....i drove autos for years until i busted my knees running.....now i drive automatics due to the killing of my knee over the past few years (especially with my ef civic cable clutch) so now in my car i have a auto with upgraded valve body servos clutches shift kit and high stall tq converter......and for those that think that having a sports car with an auto is pointless...you talk to any pro mod drag racer that goes 0-200 in 6 seconds if he cant drive...just cuz he uses an automatic transmission

You will need to upgrade your transmission. the stock torque converter will slip when you turbocharge it.

p i understand what your talking about .. i mean.. yea after years.. i guess ppl will get tired of it... and yea theres lots of differnt types of auto shifters out ther but i dont think this guys going to get into all of that...

haha re-read your post or at least the first sentance.. it confused me.... and damn that sux to mess up your knee... and as for the dragster stuff.. yea i know they have sorta an auto shifter.. but not like an auto that normal cars have i forgot what their system is called.... i know they can drive.... and i dont think i would want them to worry how to shift on those cars id rather them just keep both hands on the wheel...
also im not really into going strait.... if you had an auto persay at an autox or on a road course... eh... going strait doesnt require much skill in an auto... just have quick reflexes and mash the gas.. but on a course... theres downshifting and balencing the car.. lots of things.. i just dont consider an auto a sport car... welll a normal auto..

sticks...sorry.....damn late nigh posting...haha...i drove a STICK for years until i busted my knee (left leg majorly....why they gotta have teh clutch on the left side???) but yea there system is a little different in the drag cars...my buddy drive nhra big block nitrous and he uses an air system, but some driver in like ihra and what not can use padle shifters to through the gears....some even have 3 to 4 levers....one for each gear....

but anyway.....upgrade the torque converter, even though most torque converters operate very similarly in daily driving.....its when you pull up to a red ligh and some guy in a hot rod comes up next to you...and testosterone drivin mind decides to race....a higher stall will allow you to take off with both feet on the gas and brake and not allow the car to go at a higher rpm (kinda like reving the car up to 3000 rpm and dumpin the clutch and taking off in a manual car...and in that same case..that would be a 3000stall torque converter).....

and you do not want to have a stock TQconvt when you turbo or nitrous or swap out engines or whatever......once you add about 60-70hp to your stock application.....you will start to abuse things more and more if they are only made for a smaller hp car...

as far as im concerned...and i have a 95 accord that my girl drives with a auto tranny....we are going to swap out her f22b2 for a h22 with an automatic tranny....(and shes going to be doin most of the work herself...impressive eh?...and shes a model....yes life is good)
