91 legend audio help
hi.. i installed an alpine hu in my bosses car a 91 legend.. like a week after i installed it the radio went dead them came back on.. it does taht at times.. and when it does out he would kick the fuse box on the drivers side and it would come on.. i messed with the radio fuse and yeah it would come on.. does anyone know of a probelm with the fusebox on the drivers side??
The problem is the metal clamps that hold the fuse are not tight enough, just grab each "leg" of the fuse, [one at a time] with 2pr of pliers and put a little bend in them, so instead of being flat they are a little "V" shaped, this makes the "legs" a little thicker, plug the fuse back in, you should be ok.

Yes the other possibility is that there is a connection problem between the fuse "terminals" and the wiring to them, however it is unlikly, and if it is the case the fuse box would have to be removed and opened up to repair.
The problem I discribed is a common one I have run into many times.

Only the fuse clamp thing is common, I have only run into 1 Honda/Acura with a problem with the wire connection to the fuse clamp, however I have run into the fuse clamp problem 100s of times over the years. It was very common 5/10 years ago, when everyone was getting car phones, a "fuse tap" was used to power up the phone, it was a metal "sleeve" that you stuck on one of the fuse legs and then plugged the fuse back into the fuse box, it had a "tab" sticking up beside the fuse that you could plug a term. into, but the sleeve made the leg almost 3 times as thick, so it would spread the clamp open a bit, so when you removed the "tap" the fuse has a very loose fit, bending the fuse legs a bit makes them "thicker" so they fit tighter
