Can someone tell me how hard it is to do the rotors and pads on the rear of a 96 Accord? The shop I use is giving me the blues and the only way to get around certain problems is to be able to do it myself.

I've been told it is hard to get the rotors off of the front. I don't know if this is true or not but right now I need to do the rears. My car shakes when I brake and it has never been the rear brakes but they are telling me it is being caused by the rear rotors being warped. He said he drove my car and pulle the emergency brake. He said that is using the rears only and the shaking was there. Is this true? Is this a legit way to test? Can I change the rear rotors and pads without any special tools?

 

the only prob with the rear rotors is trying to remove the screws that hold the rotor to the hub there is no press or anyhting needed like the front rotors but the im sure the screws on yours are like mine and will be pretty hard to get off and just watch out for stripping them! but when u put the back make sure u use ant sieze just a little help for someone or u later on!

well i stripped them and screwed m,y self but if u get a socket with the right size phillips head screwdriver on it is my best betthat way u will get even torque on the screw and those suckers will be in there good and tight remember brakes get hot and cold constantly causing expansion and contraction making them sieze and im sure the mileage doesn't help with rust and stuff so just take your time and try not to just muscle it like i did! i even broke a screw out bit in the freakin screw so now i need ot have it removed by a mechanic lucky me ehh

get them at your local dealer i am sure they have them in stock , they are very cheap ,,
