Default EG hydro diff into L3 tranny?

I just got my hands on a zc tranny. Its going in my car once i swap diffs (i want to keep stock axles). I want to use a 92+ diff cause i heard that theyre better because of the hardened cross pin (ive blown a couple of ef diffs before). Are the ef and eg differentials interchangeable at all? And whats the deal all this 35/40mm bearing stuff?
