Engine advances timing and adds fuel when A/C is on?

Engine advances timing and adds fuel when A/C is on?
Does the engine advance the timing and dump fuel when the A/C is on? Once the A/C is turned on, I smell a good amount of fuel coming out of the muffler, as if unburned fuel is being released. Do you know if the older computers have those types of parameters when the A/C is on?
