Default Limitations of stock ECU (part 2)

Yes, I'm slowly realizing how much a drawback the stock ecu is.....

Next step is hondata like everybody and their mom's. :/

What is the limitation of how the stock ecu can handle a bump in compression to 12:1? I'm guessing you have to dial back timing, so with the stock ecu compression doesn't give you the jump in whp you'd expect - simply because you have to add fuel AND dial back timing to avoid detonation.....?

What about headwork? Just add more fuel? Will better flow allow you to advance timing even more with the extra fuel?

Ken, you need a chipped P28? for your hondata?

ttt

C'mon a lot of you guys have experience with raising compression or headwork without changing the ecu... What did you have to do in tuning to reap the benefits of these changes?

Really depends. The stock ecu tends to be rather conservative so you might
or might not experience detonation problems with the stock program.

Better flow will most likely need more fuel. If you want to run more timing
then being a little on the rich side will help.

Of course you could always just get a J&S and run the advanced timing.
