Default are all b series tranny cases the same?

long story short, i hit a pothole/crater, bottomed out and cracked my tranny case(usdm itr)

i was wondering if you can mix and match the different parts of the case, because i have a friend who has the bellhousing that he would give me for free(jdm sir2), and i found the tail end for 60 bucks(gsr). im pretty sure it will fit, but im just making sure before i spend any money. sorry if anything i said doesnt make sense, im at work right now and typed this in a short period of time.

pics of the ownage if anyone is interested...some things jbweld cant fix

No, not all are the same, some are different..... LSD and non-LSD different, cable/hydro different.

Edit: This question made me get off my ***, go to two trannies I have already torn apart, one is ITR LSD, the other is GSR open diff. I put the ITR gears/diff into the GSR case and it worked, so I was wrong. All b-series hydro casings the same, I guess only the H22's use different cases for LSD.

so yes, all cable except '92-'93 YS-1 are interchangeable as far as parts go, and all hydro + '92-'93 YS-1 are interchangeable, although not everything in the YS-1 is perfectly interchangeable. if you take the whole gearset out, a hydro gearset will go right in, though. so, too, then, should a YS-1 gearset bolt into a hydro B. and as far as the H's go, i think the '97+ ATTS ones are the only ones that have different housings. BTW, $60 is a great price! yes, all your parts will bolt into the SiR-II + GSR non-LSD case. if you want to get smart, you can even put your ITR's original ID plate onto the other case.

Looks like just the outer casing broke, that should be an easy swap.
