Default how to fix an axel seal leak?

hey guys

after posting this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1354901

i got many helpful replies, however, none which told me how to fix the axel seal (if that is indeed the problem)

there is nothing about the axel seal in my helms manual, so i do not know what to do?

is there a place where i can find instructions for this DIY?

thanks in advance

This guy told you how.

Looks like your axle seal is leaking to me. I seem them all day long up at work. Pull the axle and then use a seal puller or a pic to pop the old seal out. Put a new seal in and then you'll be good to go, real easy should only take 30 minutes to do.

Pull out the axle, pull out the seal, put a new one in and you're good to go.

If you're unsure about how to remove the axle, the manual should at least tell you that. Then you'll see the seal in there, it's a little black ring.

Like ****** said, it's a pretty common problem, with a relatively easy fix. If you don't feel comfortable pulling an axle in your driveway, or garage (lifts make EVERYTHING easier), here's my advice:

Find someone who knows what they're doing, and have them help you.

OR

Take it to a shop. They'll have it back to you in a matter of hours (albiet your wallet will leave a little lighter), and if there's any problems, you can take it back to them, and you're not the one stuck with the problem. Granted, any tech with half a brain and 4 fingers should be able to do this with his eyes closed, so I doubt there will be any problems.

Good luck!

Looking over it briefly it looks like a good writeup. Follow it and you should be good to go. Good luck.
