Spring rates with GC and Koni Yellows
I am currently doing homework to replace my Nuespeed lowering springs with a GC/Koni Yellow set up (seems to be the preferred by many). I have found a set of CG coil overs with springs rates of: Front Spring rate: 340 lb/in -- Rear Spring rate: 250 lb/in. Can anyone tell me if this is a good spring rate to mate with some koni yellows?? (This will be for a 99 Civic Ex with 00 Civic Si rear trailing arm swap)
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
What Neuspeed springs do you have now? How do you like the stiffness? How are you going to use the car? Street/auto-x/trackdays? We need a lot more info.
I have the Nuespeed sport springs, I believe (it's been a few years since installation) -- The green ones
But they seemed to have started sagging recently and it's time for some coil overs.
- About my current set up. Well, it's terrible. I am running stock shocks and no rear sway yet. - Hense the homework for my suspension facelift - The springs ride nice, but don't perform very well (attributing much of that to my stock shocks, I'm sure). I want to say "Holy ****" when my suspension is done.. I want to be impressed.
This is not my daily driver car, but rather a fun-weekend in the country car. However, I do wish to participate in track events a couple times a year- NOT racing events, but rather time trials and such.
My concern, rather, is not damaging my new koni shocks. I am unclear on the importance of matching springs rates and damping rates, and how that may effect the shock.
Thanks again

custom spring rates really arent that big of a deal for the average street driver now if you know your **** and you know what rate you want for a specific reason then power to you but since you dont know my suggestion is going with ots rates
