Frontal Area?
Hallo,
did somebody know the frontal areas and drag coefficients values of common honda models (delsol, crx, civic, integra)
of is there a way to measure the exact frontal area?
Thanks
Malte.

88-91 Non-HF CRX: 0.30 Drag Coefficient
88-91 HF CRX: 0.29 Drag Coefficient
Those are pretty popular stats, I'm sure some others are floating around somewhere.
Frontal area isn't hard to approximate by meauring the dimensions of the car and some 4th grade math. Or you could build a bigass wall out of like cheese and drive through it and measure the area the car cut out. You might have to heat the whole car to red hot in an oven so it melts the cheese really fast and cuts through cleanly, or you can sharpen all the edges of it to get a clean cut. Either way, it's up to you.

Hallo,
for calculating the frontal area... whats about cuts in the bumpers i.e. for an intercooler... does it measured by 100% of its size or is there a factor needed because air can go thru it.
so frontal area is everything i see of the car when i'am in front of the car, right? including wheels, wings, mirrors, etc...

Frontal area is everything you can see, the silhouette in effect. Things like intercoolers, windshield wipers, etc affect the coefficient of drag, but the frontal area remains the same. Tires, mirrors, all that stuff you can see from the front is included, but the type of surface isn't really taken into consideration until you look at drag coefficients.
