Not sure if this is the right place but a guy i know is selling a 1.6 sohc vtec motor our of a 95 civic si. He says the pistons are knocking and wants me to pay $75 for it... is this a good deal or should i talk him way down? What would this motor be good for?

Seems like you already have a D16Z6, so you could pick-up this motor and rebuild it either for performance or a spare.

i'd try talking him down a bit more but if rest is healthy might not be bad but if pistons are knocking somthing else is probbly beat up if not dead already.

$75 isn't horrible but i'm sure you could get him to take less. The head alone is probably worth $75 though on ebay.

it's worth it if you're getting the tranny no doubt. People want that tranny.
