p30 ecu
I had a socketed p30 ecu in my del sol with a b16a3.. the p30 was running a spoon program which rev limited at 9000 witch was a very bad idea.. now im almost done putting together my new motor and i still have this chip and i dont want to use it because obviously it blew up my last motor.. but in my defense i wasnt driving and i wouldnt have taken it to 9000 lol. now I know the best thing to do would be get it tuned but I dont have the money for that right now .. if i got one of those pre programed chips off ebay I wanted to get one that rev limited at 8500 since its only 300 away from stock rev limit so in case i miss a shift im not looking at a new b16 again.. but the only problem with that is that the chip is for an auto tranny... will it still work in my ecu? ive heard auto will work with manual but manual wont work with auto.. will i have a check engine light on? will it affect performance?? thanks.
Do not buy an ebay chip. PM Kenji on the board he has several very good programs.
BTW b16's are safe to rev. Ive been reving mint out to 9500 for over 2 years. But i have a ITR head and the Valvesprings can handle those RPM's

k thanks for the info man... u think i might be safe running rev limiter at 9000?? i have a b16 head with kms valves and a stock jdm b16a bottom end.
I rev my complete stock JDM B16 to almost 9000 all the time still runs fine I usually shift around 8700 depends on conditions. I have a stock P30 and the revlimiter dosent kick in untill 9k I think.
