upgrades power for 94 accord ex automatic

i am planning on trading my 92 manual civic hatchback with b18b1 for a clean stock 94 ex accord automatic
im not really into automatics unless its in my suv
anyway i want to know how to get some quick power and higher rpms b4 shifting
is a chip for automatic worth it(saw one that has 8500 rpm redline vtec 2500 rpm)
whats the highest rpm for a stock head b4 damaging it
