when do you know when your rear drums are going bad???
if you take off the drum you will seee two pads and at the top there is a screw that adjust the tension of the pads and you loosen and tighten the screw to adjust your tension! a easy way to test your rear drums, when you are going to park just before you come to a complete stop pull up hard and fast on the e-brake (do not do this while moving over 5 mph) you should feel the rear drums grab that should tell you! hope this helps i just a brake job a while back the rear is the hardest and my brakes still make weird noise, get your drums and pads from honda not autozone etc
i dont know when my rear drum brakes go out.
i normally change my rear brakes when im replacing my front break pads after the second time. meaning on the third change of brake pads in the front...i replace my rear brakes.
its not that hard when replacing the rear brake pads. what i normally do is use the other side as my reference.

Just make sure you don't wait, to long if you think they are going bad or wearing out, I did and had to replace the drums master cylinder and the pads
