Exhibit "A": one reason why T-Top roofs suck!
As you guys probably know I picked up a Grand National w/ T-Top roof as my latest project. I've been gathering parts (and waiting on backorders) for the car for the most part the past few weeks. I'm still waiting for my replacement floor pans to be able to really kick this project off but we decided to move forward and strip the interior. LOL well it's not a pretty sight, here are some pics.......
Driver's side passenger footwell area:

Driver's floor area:

Back corner near the backseat cushion:

This is what happens when bad weatherstrips leak and the water is allowed to soak into the carpet and sit. Please note I was aware that it needed new floors when I bought the car, just didn't realize it was this bad
. I'm already into this thing for more money than I spent on the Civic
just in resto parts.
Couple of random pics of my baby's roommates, the guy doing the work is well known in the area and builds some crazy cars.
'92 Carrera that the owner mis-shifted and blew up the tranny OOPS! ($8,000.00+ mistake):

'71 Camaro that's in the begining stages (soon to be 427 powered) note the full tub action

Another '71 (I believe) Camaro and a 454 powered, tubbed Chevelle tucked in the corner:

Well I'm no expert, but what he (the guy doing the job) said, a rebuilt tranny is 4500-5000 and then labor to install and misc other little things. Only reporting what I was told. Regardless it's expensive.
I'm going back there tonight so I'll see if I can get better pics of the Chevelle.

I remember those days. When I was restoring my old 1970 Dodge Charger, I had to cut and weld in new front and rear floor pans, and the trunk pan.
Good luck with you car,

Me too, if it's the same caliber as the car he used to own (69 Camaro). It's going to be insane.
