cv axles...i think its messed up.....
well today i was driving and when i made a left turn i can hear this thumping noise. when i hit the gas i dont hear it, but when i slow down the thumping noise comes back. my friend told me it was the cv axle...now..if thats the case should just get new axles or just the cv axle and what type of price am i looking at??? Or is it something else and not the axle. that thumping noise is getting on my nerves..
It is called a CV joint.
Those can be heard weather no matter what speed you are going in a turn.
Is it only when you turn?
Check your CV boots (plastic thingys to hold in the grease) and see if there is any leakage. If so, replace boots and grease and see if you didn't damage your CV's if noise is still there replace CV joints.

i would not recommend used cv axles unless you know who you are getting them from. I work at an auto parts store and they always make you bring the core back so you might be buying someone elses pieces of crap that they just rebuilt and stuck back on the shelf. Try to find some at a junk yard off a low mileage car or get them from honda.
