Default 97-01 Prelude Headlight bulb questions

Are the high and low beam lightbulbs the same? Can either one be use on either high or low? Both the same specs right? Thank.

And also, people say that he Sylvania Silverstars are bright and white. But I don't seem to get white. I notice that it was brighter than my old bulbs, but not whiter than it. Anyone care to comment? I bought the SS HI ST. Did I buy the wrong one because of the "ST"? Thx.

Hope this is technical enough, because I am scare to create a thread on HT because I get points minus.

Yes both high and low beam bulbs are the same...H1 bulbs to be exact...To answer you question about buying the wrong Prelude, YES you bought an automatic, so just hope that your tranny doesn't go out on you anytime soon *knock on wood*

The best lighting you can get would be HIDs...For our cars, have a retrofit done, cause if you don't, you'll blind on coming traffic, cause our headlights weren't designed to have them and you'll have major glare

Thx man. When I mention SS on my first post, I meant Silver Stars not Sport Tronic.

Anyone else that can help?

You can fix it. You'll just have to take your headlights apart. Very easy to do if you actually wanna do it

If you want a little brighter/whiter bulb grab some MTEC bulbs. Not crazy expensive and they last. Lifetime warranty too. I've actually used the warranty, and they do honor it.

I had previously used Silverstars, but the right headlight kept blowing. I told them about it, and instead of shipping one, they shipped me two new bulbs! didnt really matter, because the right blew again about 3k miles later. I put the stockers back in and havent had a problem.

Apprently 5th gens dont like aftermarket bulbs, havent heard of anyone's 5g taking a likening to them.
