F20B Vs. H22 Type S
i am going to get a swap soon but still debattin on what motor i should get for my 98 four door accord. F20b has a higher redline and more torque than the H22. but the h22 has more hp than the F20b. what do you guys think?
what are the price range for them? what u plan to do, n/a or FI.
Personally i dont anything about either engine to really help u
get some more opinons and maybe do some searching.

i think you are wrong...the f20b does have a higher redline, but it does not make more tourque or hp than the h22 type s...the f20b is a small tourqueless motor that needs that extra revving ability just to make the measly 200 hp that the regular h22 does already...the type s motor is 220 hp i believe, also has a higher redline, and comes mated with a close ratio 5 speed equipped with an lsd...go with the type s motor, you will be tons happier...

def. go with the H22, more tq to pull your 4 door car. the f20 fill make ur car slugish, i was thinking the same thing before i got the h22 i am very happy with the H22. plus its goin to be more dificult to find parts for the f20. h22 are easier to mod. Turbo, go with the H22 for the simple reason of the Comp Ratio.
f20b = 200hp 145 Trq 11.0 Comp. ratio
H22A Jdm 200hp 161 Trq 10.6 Comp Ratio
Usdm 190Hp 156 Trq 10.0 Comp. Ratio

same ******* motor, dude....h22a7
alot of people talk down on the f20b, however from owners, ive heard a different story. i guess the f20b was kind of like a testing ground for the f20c....and used much stouter internals than the h22. whats-his-face from AUST. with the SiR-T has had both motors, and said he like the F20 better...as are a number of people who've had both.
the way i see it, if your really looking to build a motor to make tons of hp, your better off with teh f20b. however, if you just looking to throw on some bolt ons, or maybe even cams and fuel management, go with the H.
from what ive seen, the H hits a wall sooner than teh F will in terms of making power NA
