my stock resonator is rusted and has some small holes in it. I searched and found people use glass packs and they say it sounds good. My question is would a glass pack on a d16y8 keep the same tone/loudness that the stock resonator gives me or would I get the loud crackling noise that my redneck neighbor's truck has? i wouldn't mind it going a little bit louder seeing how glass packs are 20 bucks new and i can put it in myself no problem. I just don't want that annoying crackling noise trucks get every time you let off the gas.

glass pack (depending on brand) will give a nice sound, maybe a little ricey around 4k rpm...but better than a straight pipe...
