How can you tell if its a b18c5 motor?...gonna buy a ITR
Besides the red valve cover what noticable things can i look for. Im going to meet this guy who has a salvaged 98 type R he said only some interior stuff and the suspension was stolen but he replaced it all ... the suspension was replaced with gsr suspension.
Anyways when i look under the hood what can i check out too know its a b18c5.. the guy couldnt speak much english so im a little sketched out. Hes selling for 9500 so its a bargain. any tips on what i should do noises....when does vtec engage on the ITR im gonna test drive it. just any helpful hints and tips would be really appreciated i dont want to loose 10 g's here. thank you for your time.

For USDM models look below the left corner of the header, and there should be B18C5 stamped on the block. Also ITR came with LSD look left of that stamp and in black lettering should say J4D LSD. You might not be able to see this under the stock air box. Also In the VIN number All Type R's are DC231, GS-R's are DC239. That should be enough to go on. Correct me if i am wrong. Good Luck!

Also note that both of them start with "JH4" and GSR's can also be "DC238." There is a VIN on the tranny right next to the engine code (which should be B18C5), and there's a VIN on the bottom front of the engine.

Then someone explain to me why my 1996 integra RS vin # says DC4 on it, i thought that 3dr tegs(94-01) were dc2, 4dr was DC4 and the new RSX/integra's are DC5

I bought it after I graduated from college for $500 and it was a rust bucket from upstate NY. I drove it to hell and back, and definitely got my $'s worth! LOL

Ha! '84 Nissan Sentra Auto that wouldn't go any faster than 20mph on any type of incline with a lot of pissed off cars behind me. Remember the Dumb&Dumber scene when they were going up to Aspen? Yeah...
