Tire Question - I've searched
Yes, other factors that would contribute to this would be your ride height, spring rates and the amount camber. I for one am on some 15X7 SM-058's with an offset of +31, and am on H&R Sports with 195/55/15's and have had no rubbing as of yet.
Your car probably came with 175/70-13 or 185/60-14 stock tires. The best 15" size for your car is 195/50-15. Most 195/50-15 tires can be mounted on 15x7 wheels.
So now it's just a matter of deciding which tire to get, which depends on your priorities - things like price, performance (wet and dry traction and handling), treadlife, whether you plan to use it on snow and in frigid cold, track use, etc.

I want performance for everyday driving. Price isn't much of a problem b/c good tires are worth every penny so i'll throw down $350 if I have to. I don't race on the streets and it won't see a track for a while. I'm in so cal so the weather is nice and we don't see rain that much.

If you want 195/50 you should try out the new Toyo Proxes T1-R. They are on sale at http://www.onlinetires.com for $60 each which is a very good deal. The T1-R's are Max Performance summer tires that replace the T1-S as Toyo's flagship tire. They supposedly compare to Bridgestone's Potenza S03.
Get while they are still on sale in that size. I placed my order last saturday and they will be arriving this Friday.
They are pretty new tires to the states so you won't be able to find many reviews on them. Here's an H-T member review on them: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1332348

Then I would strongly recommend the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, which is $89 per tire at the Tire Rack. This is Goodyear's top-of-the-line tire, and did extremely well in Tire Rack's comparison testing, with similar results to the Bridgestone S-03 and the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. All three of these are the very best street tires around today, but the Goodyear has a cost advantage over the S-03 and the PS2 (although the PS2 isn't available in this size anyway). If you look at the survey results on the Tire Rack website for Max Performance summer tires - remember, this is the category that includes most brands' top-of-the-line tires, so these are the very best tires available - the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 has the best survey ratings out of all 23 tires in the category. Can't do any better than that.
The Toyo T1-R is a good tire for the money. For someone who's looking for good value, it's a good choice. But it's not quite as good as the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 (or the S-03). Since you're looking for the best performance, period, and you're not just trying to save money, you should get the Goodyear.
