Default h22a knocking noise near pulleys

I just finished swapping in my h22a from my old lude into its new home. ran fine before, no problems, it was sitting in a wrecked lude in my back yard since christmas, i would go back and start it every once in a while to keep it alive.

Now i have it in, when i started it up for the first time there was lots of smoke from exhaust and around headers/valve cover area, assuming this is from oil sitting where it shouldnt be just burning off, i let it run to burn it all off. stops smoking, no problems for a few minutes.

Im driving the car out from garage and start to hear a knocking noise, real low, thinking ill just check oil level maybe it needs a lil more. oil levels fine, noise gets louder now is steady, can tell its coming from pulleys/crank area, hoping it can be my timing? tho i didnt mess with my timing. also the oil light turned on after i stopped the car and stays on now, but level is fine. little smoke still but i think thats from oil needing to be burned off still.
please help, tell me its not serious, prolly just timing needs to be adjusted, or even a belt? i kno one of my belts needs to be replaced but it sounds more like a hard knock then a piece of rubber hitting wrong.

have a mechanic coming to look at it, but not reliable on WHEN.
any more information you need to determine or get an idea, let me know.

EDIT, came home, ran it to see how it would act, no noise, so i decided to drive it down the street see how it would run, everything was good, stopped popped the hood, still fine, so i decide to test the vtec make sure that works, hit about 4k rpm, and it reved up but no drive, now i put it in any gear/reverse, and no drive, engine still sounds fine, clutch pedal still normal/shifter going into every gear fine, but no drive. any ideas on this one?

That could most likely be caused by a faulty main thrust bearing. Your crankshaft might have too much end play which could cause that kind of noise. I do believe that the main thrust bearing on the H22a is on the front of the motor.
