No start after engine swap..has spark, fuel pressre...
Need to get this car running.
If I give it a shot of gas directly into the plenum it fires right up.
The car is a 90 Accord with a 92 engine.
Maybe the wiring harness got goofed up, really can`t figure this out.
ECU puts out CODE 16...Fuel injectors.
I changed them out along with a new fuel filter.
Also the main relay, nothing helps.
How do I check wires for the injectors, like I said a shot of gas sprayed past the throttle body and instant start then just dies.
Really Need help on this thanks in advance

wow, you cant read.
are you using the 1990 injectors? does the car have a resistor box that might of gotten fried?

Yes I can read. I have replaced a main relay only to find out the factory and the replacement was bad smartass.

Even if he used the wrong injectors the car would get fuel. The only thing that would cause the pump not to prime the injectors would be the main relay or a bad resistor box. By him stating that if he bypasses the injectors and sprays fuel into the IM and it starts and runs until the fuel is burnt off. The diagnostic skill that I do have tells me that the relay or resistor box would be the next point of concern.
ok, then if you had read you would know he replaced the main relay and would know where it is. also a bad main relay would not give a cel 16.
if he i susing high impedence injectors on a low impedence system it would not work. it would see a problem with the injectors and they wont even fire.

I changed out the injectors and put the originals in...no go.
I swapped out the resistor also, no change.
I appreciate the help guy`s
This has me stumped.
Again if I give it a few shots of gas...it lights off then dies, still shows code 16

Already took it off and sanded it down even used heavy duty jumper cables to make a solid ground connection right at the block. No change.
well i'm just wondering what injectors came on the other engine. if they were high impedence it could of fried out the ecu too. do you have a spare ecu to test out?
The injectors are differant from a 90 accord to a 92 accord ??
I seem to have plenty of fuel pressure. If the pump were bad wouldn`t it show a code 42?

obd0 used low inpedence injectors with a resistor box, obd1 used high impedence injectors with no box. puttin obd1 injectors in with the resistor box could cause problems.
Both harnesses have the resistor box.
Local stores say they don`t have a noid light for a Honda. The Honda dealer said I can make one .
By chance do know how I can do that?

I use the same noid light on all fuel harnesses. It's just two little prongs sticking out. You can spread them out a little when needed. I think mine was for a GM. You are correct. Both cars have resistor boxes. Get a noid light on those pigtails before you go any further.
Checked with NOID light...NO PULSE
I don`t have the radiator with it`s fan connections and whatever else installed could that possibly be a problem? I wouldn`t think so but who knows.
Now that I know the injectors are not getting a signal what could be the problem?

Besides the main relay there is a fuse in the engine compartment that is for the EFI. Check that. I had that problem and it was the fuse. I believe it is a 15 amp fuse.
