i am looking into buying a IHI turbo for my y7..... how are they?

Take it over to the FI forum. I'm pretty sure the IHI is a Subaru based turbo.

Subaru may use them, but they're not the only company with IHI turbos.

I suggest a Garrett, it's a very common turbo, so setting it up won't be difficult, you'll likely have problems getting a manifold.

Maserati used IHI turbos on their Biturbo line of cars back in the mid to late 80's and early 90's, so they have been around for a while. I see alot of the old school VMC-2 (don't quote me on the model number lol) at work, if you want a rebuilt one they're like 600 bucks

I currently run a T4, RHC7 turbo (IHI) and have great results, little laggy, but made well over 450 on my built GSR setup, Good turbo, the wheels are very strong, but the only downside is the cost to re-build one.
