Forbidden Motorsports short shifter in an EG/H22A hybrid--->HELP!

I spoke to Jeremy about this, and he wasn't sure about the answer (although he is pretty damn helpful). However, I'm sure that somebody here has the answer!

I installed the shifter and everything is fine except for a small problem with the console. The passenger's side of the console doesn't sit the way it should. The driver's side lines up perfectly, but the passenger's side sits up too high for it to be screwed in properly.

Has anybody else experienced this? If so, how did you fix it and what, if anything, did you trim down? Thanks!

It's forbidden to install that shifter in an EG... hehe

I say trim it.
