1999 Accord Coupe V6 Alternator Noise?????
My accord only has 40,000 mi. and two days ago I started hearing a whirring/moaning noise near the alternator. Has anyone ever experienced this. I have never had an alternator make noise before it gave out.

Pretty common on em, I replace them all the time because they make noise. It's usually one of the first signs of them crapping out.

If you look on the alternator you will notice it says Delphi on it. Good on Honda to use crap that the American Car company uses on it's cars. I'd suggest getting a cheapo remanufactured one from Pep Boys, it's around 150 bucks, and comes with a lifetime warranty. you get a new "honda" one and your buying yet another Delphi with no warranty other than the standard parts warranty. Just my .02. Put a pep boys one on my mom's 98 when the charging system light turned on and it's been fine ever since (going on about 40K now) amazingly the original one she had lasted 90K. The rebuilit one was rebuilt by Bosch.
Just for reference, my 93 has the Denso alternator and has 342,000 miles on it, original and no issues. Go figure.
