I would like to know if it's at all possible to have the cai filter protruding partly from the hood where i would have cut away and placed over the cut a scoop?

 

Why would you want to do such a hideous thing..... if the car is for drag purposes only why not remove the passenger headlight and air will flow right to the intake.... unless your intake is already down in the wheel well area and its already getting plenty of cold air...

 

Thanks for your opinion, I'm not sure how or what i'm going to do with the cai yet.
It's mainly for show and to be a bit different.
